Group leader Design Quality Engineering

Your role:

• You will be a member of the Management Team of the department and determine, in consultation with this Management Team, the group’s objectives, policies, processes and budgets on short and long term, makes sure that the organization can meet the objectives and ensures that the roles and responsibilities are put in place.

• You will be responsible for the development of services propositions, competences and infrastructure in the group, as well as for maintaining and improving the group’s knowledge and expertise.

• You will collaborate globally with Philips R&D centers, innovation excellence programs and the business and establishes a network with relevant stakeholders and actively participates (with group) in expert networks both within Philips and externally in own professional field.

• Ensuring appropriate personnel management practices regarding recruitment and selection, adequate staffing, remuneration, performance appraisals, education and training, and management development policy.

• Ensuring the group’s output and performance is in line with innovation partner expectations (both short-term and long-term).

• Thinking out of the box, seeing the bigger picture, creating long term vision and strategy, both for the own group and for key contribution (with respect to his own professional field) to the business.

• Participating actively together with your team to support customers.

• Providing acquisition support: Within the group, build-up and maintain relations with existing innovation partners and identify business opportunities.

You’re the right fit if:

• You have a MSc /PhD degree in a relevant area of expertise like Physics, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

• You have experience in building and leading global impactful teams, you have experience as a people manager, leading a team of at least 10 people

• You have proven ability in motivating highly skilled technical specialists

• You have deep expertise within the field of Product Development and innovation (e.g. DfSS Black Belt)

• You have experience to actively build and leverage your network (multi-level) within various subject areas including innovation teams, regulatory affairs, manufacturing units, internal and external Philips;

• You have experience in customer focused (preferably global) organizations, preferably medical device companies

• You are an entrepreneurial demeanor to take ownership, make decisions and establish improvements and results

• You are able being a role model: ability to stimulate, encourage and empathize
