PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
As a technical writer / user assistance (UA) developer, you will be researching, planning, and creating user assistance (UA) deliverables (both text and multimedia) in close collaboration with the development teams, UX designers, and other stakeholders to enable users to deploy, administer, and use SAP IBP. You will be responsible for creating and updating various types of content, including texts within the software, on-screen help, documentation published on SAP Help Portal, and release highlight videos.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Fulfill roles as both a dedicated member of the IBP UA team and an integrated member of a scrum team that uses the agile development process
- Work closely with scrum team members to provide design feedback, user interface text, and documentation in bi-weekly development sprints
- Document new features and maintain the current documentation set
- Provide compelling, modern, persona-centric UA deliverables for our customers, users, and prospects. Experienced, senior writers will help you learn
- With minimal supervision, plan and track your own work assignments and deliver them on schedule with high quality
- Represent the documentation team in development meetings
- Explore new tools and process improvements in content creation, as well as in productivity enhancements
REQUIRED
- A good to excellent university degree in technical communication, IT, business studies or a related subject or a language-based university degree
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English (ideally first-language proficiency)
- Outstanding communication, writing, and grammar skills
- Experience in technical communication
- The ability to express complex technical information in a clear and precise manner
- The ability to work to tight deadlines, deliver on time, and ensure high-quality
- Flexibility and a readiness to communicate with other team members and to participate in knowledge transfer
- Interest and good understanding of the business topic supply chain management and software development
- A willingness to acquire extensive product knowledge and learn new skills at short notice
PREFERRED
- Some exposure to business processes in supply chain management
- Knowledge of authoring in XML environments
- Basic knowledge of prompt engineering and generative AI tools in content creation and in software development
- Experience in agile software development
WORK EXPERIENCE
2-3 years of experience in technical writing / technical content creation
