The Optics Rsident Engineer will focus on:
Implementation and Deployment:
- Configure and deploy network equipment and services according to the design specifications.
- Ensure proper integration with existing customer infrastructure.
Customer Support:
- Provide technical support to customers during and after the deployment phase.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues promptly.
• Independently works within broad guidelines and uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues.• Works with substantial discretion and uses specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems and to contribute to process improvements.• Transfers concepts for professional direction of own organisational unit into actionable measures.• Provides working leadership and training to less experienced personnel.• May lead small projects with limited risks and resource requirements.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
| You have: • A Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred) and 10+ years of network integration, technical support with optical network technologies. • Technical knowledge/expertise in the following: o Fiber Types (multimode and single-mode (Dispersion Unshifted, Dispersion Shifted and Non Zero Dispersion Shifted)) and Signal Impairments in Fiber (Loss, Dispersion and Mixing) o Modulation / Demodulation (OOK, PSK and QAM) o Signal Structures and Hierarchies (Ethernet, Fiber Channel, SONET, SDH and OTN) o Fixed/Reconfigurable/Tunable/Colourless, Directionless & Contention less OADMs, In-line Optical Amplifiers, Pre- and Post-Amplifier nodal configurations, dimensioning and optimization. o OTN, DWDM and SDH networks reliability and resiliency analysis, planning and design ( O-SNCP,E-SNCP, 1+1 OCh/OMSP) protection based schemes, Electrical GMPLS + Optical GMPLS restoration based schemes).It would be nice if you also had: • Technical khowledge/experience in the following: o DWDM (1626LM, 1696MS) and SDH (1660SM, 1662SMC, 1646SMC, 1678MCC) |
