As a vital member within our
Texas Bridge Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects in Texas, throughout the Southwest, and nationwide. Our transportation projects include traditional design-bid-build projects as well as alternative delivery such as Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), and Public-Private-Partnership (P3) projects. Working with our talented Bridge Team, you’ll work to solve problems and challenges in a team environment where everyone is valued. As Senior Bridge Engineer, you will lead bridge projects of various sizes and complexity, lead teams of bridge engineers and CADD staff, support/mentor junior engineers, support strategic growth initiatives, and help win new work. As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will:
• Design and/or lead preliminary, intermediate, and final bridge projects
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages
• Lead task orders under on-call contracts
• Provide and manage engineering services during construction including submission of construction observation reports
• Review design deliverables prepared by a design-build team on behalf of the owner
• Identify creative and innovative bridge engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints
• Provide technical guidance, oversight, and perform quality reviews
• Train, direct, and mentor junior engineers
• Coordinate project milestones and workload
• Support business development and proposal efforts on occasion
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• PE registration Texas
• At least 12 years’ civil engineering experience including bridge construction
• Experience on large, multidisciplinary bridge design projects
• Experience with multiple structure types including precast concrete girder bridges, steel bridges, bridge widenings, and bridge rehabilitations
• Strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of technical standards for bridge design, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance including AASHTO LRFD and state-specific guidelines
• Familiarity with FHWA requirements and guidelines
• Ability and willingness to travel on occasion
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Multi-faceted experience including service in the public sector
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality
• Existing relationships with TxDOT, and/or other relevant agencies
• Knowledge of TxDOT Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction, TxDOT Bridge Procedures and Design Guide, and other TxDOT design and construction guidance
• Knowledge of TxDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, TxDOT Bridge Design Manual, TxDOT Structure Details, and other TxDOT design and construction guidance
