Experience with analytics is also required.You should also have a keen appreciation of what makes good features journalism: what readers want in a story, and what they would be prepared to pay for.
- You have strong editorial judgement and excellent headline writing skills. Sub-editing experience would be a bonus.
- Experience working at a magazine, newsroom or digital platform.
- A deep familiarity with the UK and US media landscape – and major writers and journalists.
- You’ve worked in a variety of CMSs and social-media platforms, and have a keen understanding of the tools that support state-of-the-art editorial.
- You are fluent with data and analytics, and can responsibly incorporate user behaviour into your editorial strategy.
- You have a keen feel for local news, and which publishers are strong across the various cities and regions of the UK.
- You have experience covering big moments in sport and entertainment.
