• Develop anduse performance testing framework(s)and performance test-casesto simulate production workloads

• Conduct performance testing and benchmarking of software applications toidentifybottlenecks and areas for optimization

• Prepare Venmo’s production system to scale for high velocity events for the seasonal traffic

• optimizethe performance of software, including improving scalability, response time, throughput, and resource

• Buildperformance-as-a-serviceto scale operations

• Maintain complexperformance test environmentwith mix of monolith and micro-service deployments

Looking For

• and/ormaster's in computer scienceor related field of study

• 5+ years' experience in software development or a related field

• 5+ years' experiencetuning performance for production scale applicationswith performance testing tools such as Locust.IO, JMeter, K6

• 5+ years of experience on Cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Envoy, Helm

• hands-onprogramming/scripting skills with Python, Java, Bash, AWS Lambda

• Strong experience withInfrastructure as code (AWS CLI, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)

• Strong experience withDevOps practices and experience with toolssuch asGithubActions, Jenkins, AWS CDK

• Strong experience using tools like log tracing, application performance monitoringe.g.DataDog

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug performance bottlenecks

• Solid understanding of software architecture, including multi-tier applications and distributed systems

• Understanding of cloud datastores such asDynamoDB, AWSDocumentDB, Cassandra, MySQL, AWS Aurora, Redis,

• Strong experience with AWS Cloud is preferred but equivalent experience with other cloud providers such GCP and/orAzure isalso

• Experience leadingsoftware projects

• Strong communicationskills with the ability to understand and explain technical issues to a non-technical audience

• Certifications in performance testing or related fields is a plus

• Any experience with Chaos Engineering is a plus
