Key job responsibilities
As a full stack L5 Software Development Engineer on our team, you will:• Design, implement, and launch high-quality software systems that solve complex problems and have a significant impact
• Leverage a wide range of AWS technologies to build full-stack web applications, distributed systems, and automation workflows
• Develop code for a diverse array of Amazon Devices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, customers, and business stakeholders to drive innovative solutions
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence by establishing best practices and technical standards across the organization
• Consult with engineers across the company on the architecture and design of new systems, helping to solve our most challenging engineering problems
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity
A day in the life
- You will interface with product manager & stakeholders to understand the business requirements. You will author detailed design covering process/data flow diagrams, key trade-offs, technology & cost considerations that you will review with your team’s SDEs/Sr. SDEs as well as impacted upstream/downstream interface SDEs/Sr. SDEs to incorporate feedback resulting in well thought out high quality designs.- You will engage in design reviews within team as well as within org with aim of providing feedback to elevate the quality of designs. You will engage in various team ceremonies like code reviews, daily standup, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint retros, operational excellence hand-offs.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
