What you’ll do

As a Principal Designer (f/m/d) in our AI Experiences team, you will drive critical initiatives and define UX concepts for enterprise-scale and consumer-grade web, iOS, and Android applications for SAP’s business users. Your responsibilities include:

• Design Strategy: Develop and articulate a comprehensive design vision and strategy for our AI-driven product suite, aligning with our company and organization’s goals and user needs.
• Innovative User Experience: Create and refine user journeys and interaction flows that simplify the integration of AI capabilities into intuitive enterprise workflows.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive and impactful design solutions.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.
• User-Centric Design: Advocate for the user at every step of the design process, conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to inform design decisions.
• Prototyping and Design Systems: Build high-fidelity prototypes and maintain robust design systems to streamline development and ensure consistency across products.
• Market and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging AI technologies, and competitive products to ensure our designs are cutting-edge and market-leading.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate design concepts and strategies effectively to senior leadership and key stakeholders, championing the value of design in achieving business objectives.

What you bring

• Experience: 8+ years in product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or principal role, ideally within enterprise software or AI-driven products.
• Education: University degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing your deep product design expertise and experience with complex, data-intensive applications.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Framer, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with design systems.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate complex AI and data-driven concepts into intuitive user experiences.
• Leadership: Proven experience in leading projects from rough ideas to successful outcomes. Mentoring individuals and design teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Innovation: Passion for staying ahead of design trends including methodologies and technologies, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI in enterprise software.
