As an associate you will work as a part of the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Event Marketing, Sponsorships and Creative team, which focuses on strategic direction and content delivery of franchise client events, sponsorships and tickets, brand and creative services. The focus will be in local events in Argentina such as the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, executive visits and select senior management offsite and client events in Argentina and potential across the region.

The position requires engagement with a broad range of business partners within the global team as well as the Payments, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking businesses and other areas of the firm. The event marketer will assist other team members in strategic execution, plans and protocols, in addition to joining project work streams and data maintenance. The goals are the following:

  • To lead the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, the world’s largest corporate running event. Powered by fitness, friendly competition and fun, Company Teams of all speeds and abilities complete a 5.6-kilometer race while spending quality time together outside of work.
  • To manage executive visits and select senior management offsite.
  • To manage events for businesses increasing client engagement, deepening relationships, ensuring consistent brand standards and driving efficiencies for all internal partners. The role will report to the senior event marketer in Argentina.

Job responsibilities

  • Learn and apply the fundamentals of the business, target audiences and department goals and translate the knowledge into successful client events
  • Manage planning teams, direct inquiries to the proper individuals or groups, and answer inquiries on events
  • Work independently on multiple programs and tasks to deliver event-related projects at the same time with different Event Marketers as the lead
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of events, including, but not limited to: venue research; data maintenance and integrity; internal and external communications; invitation creation, testing and distribution; pre-event tasks, like audio visual and technical requirements; delegation housing and registration; on-site staffing and support; post-event tasks, such as reviewing survey data and supporting debriefs
  • Responsible for administrative tasks, e.g., manage, review and reconcile reports (RSVP, delegation, registration, dinner assignments, etc.); managing event supplies and shipping; premium research and ordering; and production tasks of event materials like name badges, biographies, speaker introductions, briefing memos and printing
  • Collaborate with partners and other marketing teams on event data and analyses, as well as assist in the development and reconciliation of event budgets
  • Become a ‘super user’ of core event related technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BA degree
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofing in both English and Spanish
  • 3+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably in the financial industry
  • Expert in Microsoft suite, especially Excel (i.e., pivot tables, V lookups and macro is a plus) and PowerPoint (i.e., interactive links, incorporate audio/visual icons, animation); proficient in SharePoint
  • Proficiency with event management, procurement and expense systems or ability to learn systems
  • Requires early mornings and occasional late nights, as well as some travel
