In this role you’ll analyze, transform and bring together data from across different domains and contribute production-quality code to our big-data pipelines. You will work with industry-standard tools like PySpark, Hadoop and Google Cloud to leverage PayPal’s vast amounts of data into a scalable and configurable graph data-layer that serves as the backbone of our ML stack. You will work closely with ML scientists and big-data engineers to push our infrastructure forward.

Your day to day

  • Analyze data from the perspective of graph structures and ML algorithms

  • Transform and bring togethernumerous

  • Write productionPySparkcode over distributed cloud systems

  • optimizeour graph data-layer

  • Work with customer teams to understand requirements and business value

  • Communicate results and findings to diverse forums including ML scientists, big-dataengineersand management


What do you need to bring-

  • M.Sc student from a leading university incomputer-science/math/engineering/physics/statisticsor related technical field

  • At least three full semesters left until graduation

  • Available for at least a 60% position

  • Background in Python and SQL or another querying language

  • Background and interest in data-analysis (analyzingdatasets/tables)

  • Work experience indata-engineering/data-analysis/relatedis a plus
