Ensure product entering operations or inventory meets all design requirements by confirming dimensional characteristics, visual/cosmetic attributes, functional operation and supporting documentation review.
Basic understanding of Metrology concepts including Blueprint layout & GD&T.
Support basic manual (surface plate and visual) inspection of parts and packaging.
Conduct basic manual (surface plate and visual) inspection of parts and packaging.
Compare measurement outputs against design requirements and determines pass/fail).
Maintains inspection tooling and equipment to ensure results reliability and repeatability.
Conduct basic CMM part setup and probe calibration.

- Utilizes Applied Materials’ Drawings and CAD models to Validate Supplier Parts to the Part Print.
- Programs Parts on Various Inspection Equipment – Examples: Calypso, GOM, QVPak.
- Applies ASME Y14.5 GD&T Concepts and Fundamentals for Dimensional Inspection of Supplier Parts.
- Conveys Out of Tolerance Data to Engineering for Part Disposition.
- Communicates Methods of Inspection to Suppliers Including; Tools used, Set-up methods and Datum Establishment, forAlignment/Collaboration.
- Acts as a Feedback Conduit to Design Engineering for Dimensioning and Tolerancing on Critical Parts.
- Provides Feedback to Supplier to Improve Manufacturing Method.
- Uses Statistical Processes to Make Process Improvements – Gage R&R, Design of Experiments, etc.
- Develops Best Known Methods for Supply Base and Internal Metrology.
- Writes Procedures to Document Metrology Methods and Best Known Methods.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and offer insights on measurement uncertainties.
- Maintain measurement procedures and calibration records in accordance with iso and quality standards.
