Design and 3D modeling of mechanical components and assemblies including gears, sheet metal, magnetic wire, insulation systems, and other components.
Develop test fixtures and engineering test plans for components design validation.
Hands-on work for prototype builds and proof of concept initiatives.
Create drawing packages and manufacturing instructions for parts and assemblies.
Investigate design and production problems and implement creative solutions.
What You’ll Bring
B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, or the equivalent in experience, and evidence of exceptional ability.
Understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals (heat transfer, statics, dynamics).
Experience using 3D mechanical design and analysis tools (CATIA V5 and/or V6, ANSYS).
Proven interest in mechanical design engineering through extracurricular activities and projects.
Additional Preferred Skills
Experience designing and building mechanical assemblies, for example motor/gearbox systems.
Basic understanding of multi-physics interactions (mechanical, electrical, magnetic, thermal).
Understanding of gear/bearing design and kinematics, with a focus on helical cylindrical gears, including gear geometry, load capacity calculation, and failure modes.
