Job responsibilities
- Proficient in design patterns like Microservices, APIs.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Expertise building and operating large-scale high-performance environments with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
- Experience with developing large scale platforms with strong understanding of complex distributed systems running on hybrid infrastructure (on premises, private and private cloud environments).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present to and communicate effectively with key stakeholders across product, technology, data and design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Evaluate sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think.
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- 8+ years' experience in design, develop, and maintain robust applications specifically using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of Kafka.
- Work with Cassandra/Oracle databases to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in Service-oriented architecture and familiarity with different design and architectural patterns.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Preferred qualifications:
- AWS experience.
- knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
- Practical cloud native experience.
- Experience with implementing industry standard cybersecurity & technology controls.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
