- Relevant Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Physical Geography or Environmental Science
- Chartered through ICE or CIWEM
- Excellent knowledge and experience of planning policy and infrastructure design requirements relating to flood risk management, and in particular river and/or drainage engineering
- Experience in the development and costing of options to manage flood risk, including resistance and resilience measures
- Detailed knowledge in the calculation of economic flood damages and benefits
- Ability to develop, price and agree scope of services
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
Ideally, you will also have: - Relationships with the relevant statutory bodies e.g. Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Scottish Environment Protection Agency and water and seweragecompanies. - Understanding of Flood Estimation Handbook techniques and 1D-2D hydraulic modelling software (e.g. Flood Mapper, TUFLOW, InfoWorks etc.) - Application of GIS software such as MapInfo, ArcGIS and QGIS
