Responsibilities:
- Accurately forecast and assess project costs, timelines, quality, and constructability.
- Utilise construction techniques and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare bills of quantities.
- Handle estimating, variations, take-offs, and cost proposals.
- Prepare forecast cash flows and provide procurement advice to clients.
- Actively participate in value management and risk workshops.
- Relevant tertiary degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, with an understanding of construction methodologies for highways, bridges, and tunnels.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise, manage, and communicate workloads effectively.
- Keen attention to detail and a desire to learn and develop technical skills in cost management services.
- Collaborative mindset, understanding client needs and goals, and working as part of a team to achieve them.
- Proficiency in first principle estimating for infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges, traffic management, and mass haul movement of earthwork.
- Understanding of constructability and staging issues in civil projects.
- Knowledge of local (Australian) plants and machinery, material use in civil projects, and productivity factors.
- Experience with software such as Expert Estimating, Cost X, and MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
