Your Role and Responsibilities
The Db2 Ecosystem team is seeking QA Engineers to join our Kochi software lab. This is your opportunity to dive into the world of coding and automation. You’ll be part of a team of QA Engineers working on leading edge technology that is solving some of the world’s most complex problems and supporting the whole Db2 Development organization. You will work closely with architects and managers to diagnose and plan the delivery of new features. You’ll be involved in writing and maintaining automated systems in support of key functions, such as pipelines for testing of Db2 products, and providing services to our internal and external customers.Your responsibilities will include:
- Devising the test plans based on the feature/product specification
- Ensuring functional, regression and performance standards are set and met for the products.
- Maintain high efficiency in test execution by focusing on automation
- Maintaining high quality of deliveries
- You will work with the Product Architects, Product Managers to understand various priorities and work towards execution.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 8+ years of professional/industrial experience in software development.
- 8+ years of experience of Scripting languages – Python, shell
- 5+ Experience working with CI/CD practices and toolsets e.g. Jenkins, Travis, GitHub
- Knowledge in SQL and Relational Database System
- Experience with Unix/Linux systems
- Problem determination, debugging and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Source Code Management (git), and GitHub.
- Passionate and willing to learn and apply new technologies, programming and scripting languages quickly.
- Must be a team player
- Experience working in a globally distributed product based engineering team
- Strong sense of ownership of deliverables.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in developing and deploying workloads on Cloud (AWS, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud etc.)
- Experience in C/C++/Java development.
- Experience in building Jenkins pipelines
- Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform, Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).
