As a Software Engineer II you will lead high-impact research, build predictive models and will be responsible for collaborating to deliver the next generation of our cloud capacity management technologies, a critical investment area for Microsoft Azure. Your work will be relied upon by millions of customers globally and you will have learning opportunities and challenges around high-scale distributed systems. You’ll identify opportunities, design and scope new engineering projects to real-world challenges.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of customer-facing, project-delivery, professional services, and/or consulting experience.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  
  • OR equivalent experience.

• You will research and maintain a deep knowledge of the industry, including trends and technologies, so that you can identify strategy opportunities and contribute to thought leadership best practices.
• You’ll also write extensible code that spans multiple features and develop expertise in proper debugging techniques.
• You will define business, customer, and solution strategy goals, and partner with other teams to identify and explore new opportunities.
• You’ll also apply a customer-oriented focus to understand their needs, and help drive realistic customer expectations.
• You will remains current in skills by investing time and effort into being informed of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
