The Visual C++ team is responsible for delivering a modern set of C++ AI powered tools to millions of developers across many platforms and industries, with the highest level of performance and capability. The Visual C++ team provides a complete, first-in-class C++ development experience in Visual Studio and VS Code. We are building the future of platforms and tools for this new era, and we are looking for developers who are not only early adopters of AI-powered development tools, but who are also actively exploring how large language models (LLMs) can enhance their effectiveness and impact. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
• OR equivalent experience.
• 6+ months of experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, or similar) to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Experience applying AI technologies (such as large language models or code generation tools) in software development workflows, including tasks like static analysis, automated documentation, or test generation.
• Experience designing complex features.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
