We are looking for a Licensing Coordinator to support our consumer products business growth in the APAC region, mainly focusing on Japan. You will be working closely with the Consumer Products and cross-functional teams in Japan/APAC to bring our content to life via compelling products. You will work to license products across all categories and prioritize best-fit partners in each category that will lead to an established (and repeatable) relationship. A successful candidate will be an out-of-box thinker and a professional who has a mindset to create something new.
Key responsibilities, but are not limited to:
  • Help drive business by supporting the Licensing team on tasks related to category management, facilitating information between external and internal stakeholders, and maintaining communication of product and partner plans.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather and distribute brand and marketing updates to share with licensing partners as well as work closely with the relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain and update internal systems and docs with category licensing plans and activity.
  • Support licensing partners to provide relevant information and creative assets from internal system/tools.
  • Prepare, distribute, and track deal memos and final agreements to ensure deals are processed efficiently through all steps.
  • Partner with Product Development & Creative teams to keep product development on track to attain commercial objectives.
  • Facilitate receipt of forecasts and send royalty payment reminders as needed.
  • Assist in compiling licensing recaps following product launches.
  • Work closely with Consumer Products Design & Creative and Merchandise Strategy teams to build pitch documents.
  • Oversee and manage selected licensee businesses as required.
What we need from you:
  • Demonstrated 3+ years of experience in the entertainment industry, preferably in outbound IP licensing and/or any relevant brand/marketing partnerships.
  • Experience working with reputable brands across different industries (entertainment studio, retailer, agency).
  • Creative/out-of-the-box thinker.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Cross-functional teamwork knowledge.
  • Possesses attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
  • Multi-tasking extraordinaire with the ability to prioritize.
  • Pop culture and lifestyle experience is a plus.
  • Must be fluent in verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese.
