This position reports to the Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Control Testing Automation Initiatives Head within the Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Control Testing Utility and is an execution-oriented individual contributor position accountable for driving controls testing automation outcomes.

Strong project management skills are required as the role will include prioritizing automation efforts, developing requirements documents and defining user acceptance criteria to support the Automation team during solution development. The role also necessitates a degree of responsibility over the technical strategy. Excellent communication skills are required to build trusting relationships and negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, particularly colleagues in other areas.

What you’ll do

  • Supports the Services, Markets, Banking/ International & Client Controls Testing Utility by identifying and prioritizing opportunities to automate control testing tools (monitoring and testing) and developing requirements documents and user acceptance criteria for the automation.

  • Serves as subject matter expert on testing automation initiatives and provides automation support when team is assessing an automated control design, ensuring control automation solutions are sustainable and appropriate in the context of the materiality of the risk and the frequency of control operation.

  • Monitors initial testing results and performs a hand-off to the offshore Testing Analysts, ensuring control testing procedures are accurate and complete.

  • Leads the automation lifecycle by proposing and creating automation solutions, grooming, unblocking hurdles, and validating automated tool designs. Prepares for control automation rollout, validating that the solution outputs provided by the automation team align with expected results. Ensures testing of control automation ahead of release adequately measures the completeness, timeliness and accuracy of control execution in expected scenarios.

  • Strategically works with the Control Owners to advocate for the embedding of controls, monitoring and testing as part of system enhancements.

  • Conducts research as required on data availability, including location, format and access needed for the target data.

  • Maintains relationships and drives accountability with partners and stakeholders to drive control testing's success in support of the business’ strategy.

  • Serves as liaison with control testing team and automation team on any issues that may occur with the automation after the rollout.

  • Maintains the automation dashboard, ensuring timeliness and quality of projects being delivered.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Support other relevant work effort of department where needed and as directed by their manager.

What we’ll need from you

  • Subject matter expert on data management and reporting.

  • Strong project management experience, including relevant experience in Risk & Controls.

  • Exemplary analytical and continuous improvement skills.

  • Good understanding of MCA (Managers Control Assessment) frameworks and processes.

  • Knowledge of the end-to-end processes within Markets, Banking, Client and/ or Services an advantage.

  • Effective communication, written and presentation skills.

  • Strong people and relationship management skills with the ability to influence others and foster a sense of collaboration.

  • Independent thinker and able to perform a credible challenge of businesses/functions.

  • Ability to work effectively on virtual teams, including across different geographies and time zones.

  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, FDR, IBS, Eclipse, and Workflow Management systems preferred.

  • Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint.

  • Project Management certification an advantage (eg. PRINCE2, Agile, PMP…)
