Job Description:

As a Staff Engineer, you’ll be a hands-on leader—driving key initiatives, mentoring teams, and championing best practices. We value independence but are accountable for results.

In your day-to-day role you will

Mentor engineers through hands-on contributions and best practice advocacy.

Drive the scalability and reliability of Venmo’s cloud infrastructure with autonomy and accountability.

Our Technical Stack:
AWS, EKS, Docker, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Datadog, Bash, Python, GoWhat do you need to bring:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 7+ years in software development.

2+ years operating distributed applications in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams.

Extensive hands-on experience with global-scale infrastructure (AWS preferred), IaaS/PaaS, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Proficient in Python, Java, Bash, or Go with strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
