The Legal Counsel provides litigation coordination and corporate secretarial duties with good understanding of local laws and regulations, procedures and concepts within own technical/subject area and a basic knowledge of other areas in order to understand how they relate to own area.
The Legal Counsel will report to Senior Legal Counsel with the following jobs:
Responsibilities:
- Handling, coordinating and tracking all litigation cases, disputes and enforcement proceedings with the external legal counsel.
- Coordinating company secretarial jobs such as resolutions of board of directors, audit committee, corporate governance committee, shareholders’ meeting and other matters related with the governance.
- Supporting Head of Legal/Senior Legal Counsel for providing consultancy regarding legal matters, negotiating and approving legal documents.
- Handling bureaucratic jobs of Legal Department at Trade Registry, Tax Offices, Municipalities, Title Deeds and Notary Publics.
- Examining legal precedents and informing the Legal Department regarding legal precedents and new legislation which will have an effect on banking practices.
Qualifications:
- Licensed by any Turkish Bar Association
- Excellent command of written and spoken Turkish and English
- At least 4-6 years of experience in a reputable law firm or a bank
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Capability for working at the intersection of business in very intensive and dynamic working environment
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to maintain effective relationships
- Experience in litigation, commercial law, company law, law of contracts
Education:
- Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
