Your role:
A review of current literature on comparison of pulse oximetry measurements taken from different measurement sites, metrics to compare signal features / parameters and strategies in statistical interpretation of data;
The statistical analysis of pulse oximetry signal characteristics obtained from different measurement sites and initial interpretation analyzing existing data bases (response times to induced oxygen levels, delay times, perfusion);
Explore concepts and options to infer and estimate hemodynamic states from Pulse Oximetry signals obtained from different body locations which includes algorithm development, testing and verification;
Documentation of results and report in detail on your scientific and algorithmic work and discuss next steps.
You're the right fit if:
Master in the field of biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or related;
A solid background in signal and data processing
Solid and proven programming skills (MATLAB and Python)
Fluent in speaking and writing English
Diligent and independent, who is willing to take responsibilities and act on these
You are enthusiastic, focused and have a result-driven mind-set

Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on your education level and if you need to relocate to The Netherlands. Part-time internships receive the allowance pro-rata.
Housing compensation. Should you need to relocate to near our office, we’ll offer you a monthly allowance of €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. To be eligible, we’ll just ask for the rental contract from your landlord, and your usual home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or 1.5 hours of travel time (for a one way trip).
Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net as a monthly allowance.
Paid holidays per internship term.
