Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
Define and lead the global procurement strategy-both long- and short-term-aligned with enterprise-wide goals.
Design and execute procurement strategies by category, brand, and geography in collaboration with senior business stakeholders.
Lead the global procurement team (70+ FTEs) across the U.S., Amsterdam, Bangkok and Romania, fostering a high-performing, agile sourcing organization.
Attract, develop, and retain top talent while building a strong succession bench.
Align procurement objectives (cost, value, innovation) with stakeholder expectations at BKNG and brand level
Cost & Performance Optimization
Identify and execute cost savings initiatives across all spend categories.
Lead rigorous spend analysis using tools such as should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO), and cost-benefit analysis.
Drive innovation into procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Measure and track internal performance across procurement categories, bringing insights and strategic perspective to enhance value delivery.
Procurement Operations & Functional Excellence
Establish and continuously improve procurement processes and governance across the full Source-to-Pay (S2P) lifecycle.
Implement best-in-class sourcing and category management practices, including strategic sourcing methodologies and supply assurance mechanisms.
Develop and maintain an authorization matrix for spend approvals by level and category, aligned with brand-specific needs.
Act as a key interface between suppliers and internal departments for procurement-related processes and initiatives.
Vendor Management & ESG
Develop and lead the company's vendor management strategy, including performance scorecards and contract tracking.
Own and implement ESG-related strategies, focusing on sustainability in procurement practices.
Maintain a centralized vendor contract database with visibility into obligations, metrics, and performance.
Build and promote a culture of responsible procurement across the organization.
Digital & Technology Enablement
Lead the digital transformation of procurement, including the selection and implementation of relevant procurement technologies and tools.
Define the location and technology strategy to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.
Drive adoption of digital procurement capabilities, supporting scalability, transparency, and automation.
Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
15-20 years of progressive growth in Procurement including 5-10 years of experience as Head of Procurement and/or Head of Category Management
Extensive global experience in developing strategies and building organizations across various business functions.
Comprehensive understanding of spend management, encompassing procurement, sourcing, category management, and vendor performance.
Proficient in creating proposals, evaluating vendors, and recommending improvements to procurement processes for rapidly growing companies.
Deep knowledge of current trends in contracting and supplier management.
Expertise in sourcing across indirect categories, with a strong focus on IT and Software.
Advanced negotiation skills and proven experience in complex agreements.
Solid understanding of accounting principles.
Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and presentation abilities, capable of effectively engaging with all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
Highly organized with the ability to manage risks and meet tight deadlines in dynamic environments.
Skilled in analyzing and resolving complex business issues to facilitate effective decision-making.
Adaptable and receptive to change, readily adopting new methods and values.
Strong financial acumen for developing sophisticated financial models, including TCO and should-cost analyses.
Commitment to supplier diversity, considering social, environmental, and ethical business practices.
Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Certified Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM) designation is advantageous.
Demonstrated expertise in conducting supplier negotiations.
