Job Description

Equipment/Sustaining Maintenance Engineerwithin our Production/Maintenance department at our Carlow Site.

Reporting to theMaintenance Manager,in this role youyou will be responsible for Maintenance and calibration execution and continuous improvement ensuring that objectives are effectively achieved, consistent with the company’s requirements to ensure compliance, safety and reliable supply to our customers.

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation, and leadership to carry out the following:

  • Planned Maintenance and Calibration: Ensure completion of scheduled planned maintenance and calibration tasks, collaborating with colleagues and other departments to achieve best practice outcomes.
  • Troubleshooting and Equipment Optimization: Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems, driving change through the Change control system to optimize throughput and reduce process cycle times.
  • Process and Equipment Improvement: Manage improvement projects, applying lean tools and methodologies to analyze data and implement enhancements, while focusing on continuous process improvement using Lean Principles.
  • Training and Continuous Skills Development: Deliver training programs, focusing on continuous skills development and knowledge enhancement, while adhering to operational procedures and maintenance standards.
  • Audit Support and Compliance: Provide support during audits and inspections, ensuring department compliance and readiness, while participating in the development of corrective actions based on audit findings.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Issue Resolution: Perform root cause analysis using standard tools and methods to identify system failures and equipment performance issues, implementing necessary investigations and approving resolutions.
  • Financial Savings and Project Support: Recognize opportunities for cost savings, providing resources and expertise for financial savings projects, and participating in the development of profit plans and budgets.
  • Operational Procedures and Documentation: Drive the writing, revising, and rollout of accurate operational procedures, training materials, and maintenance procedures for various systems, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, coaching, and management to the maintenance team, ensuring the availability of necessary resources and programs for technical skills development.
  • Regulatory Compliance and cGMP: Comply with global policies, regulatory requirements, and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in daily activities and job functions.
  • Safety Culture and Compliance: Collaborate to drive a safe and compliant culture, participating in activities that promote safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other assigned duties as necessary.

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher preferred; ideally in a related Science, Engineering or other Technical discipline
  • 3+ years relevant maintenance experience and a particular skill set in their area of expertise that adds value to the business; ideally in a manufacturing, preferably GMP setting
  • Knowledge of regulatory/code requirements to Irish, European and International Codes, Standards and Practices
  • Sterile filling processes and equipment
  • Understanding of mechanical/electrical/pneumatic processes
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining process instrumentation and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and job related computer applications required
  • Knowledge of cGMP and GDP preferred
  • SAP knowledge and experience preferred
  • Report, standards, policy writing skills required
  • Lean Six Sigma Methodology experience desired
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues and with external customers in a team orientated manner
