Your role as a Demand Planner is to lead the creation of multi-season Product volume plans for assigned Product Categories(s) to deliver against key strategic and operational objectives. Partnering closely with Product Merchandising and other cross-functional partners, volume plans support product lifecycle planning and GTM execution in the strategic horizon. Planning becomes operational through creation of article-level Operational Rolling Demand Plan (RDP), which then serves as buy signal for Purchasing and significantly influences sales planning, inventory management and product availability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Execution
- Creation and ownership of Category Demand Plans (Volume) for Strategic horizon at product concept level
- Own translation of Category Demand Plans (Volume) for Operational horizon at article level; connecting IBP sales plans to Strategic product plans
- Executes Operational Demand Plan strategy in APO to ensure clear buy signal and readiness for supply
- Maintains and updates size curves, launch phasing, and lifecycle assumptions for article-level planning
- Supports seasonal calendar execution through system maintenance and forecast uploads
Reviews & Insights
- Leads Key Category specific monthly planning reviews with Category Managers and other key partners
- Provides analytical support for monthly business reviews, IBP submissions, and global alignment checkpoints
- Helps shape forecast assumptions during range reviews and cross-functional strategy sessions
- Conduct analysis and prepare relevant reporting to support scenario planning, article productivity reviews, and in-season re-forecasting
Partnering
- Key Contacts include Category Managers, Product Merchandising, Sales, DTC Buying & Planning, SCM
- Partner closely with assigned Category Managers to develop seasonal product plans
- Partners with Supply Chain on buy readiness, BER resolution, and availability risk mitigation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; attention to detail
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities
- Foundational understanding of financial planning (sales, ASP, margin)
- Effective communication and relationship-building across functions
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP APO, IBP, or Power BI preferred
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field and/or equivelant combination of education and experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply chain, or financial analysis
- Experience in consumer goods, apparel/footwear, or retail environments preferred
