Description and Requirements
This position requires working on SaaS service activations with a primary focus on handling customers activations. Secondary responsibilities include active maintenance of automations, Devops tooling and upgrade executions. This position will require working very closely with:
- BMC Helix Cloud Ops Teams
- BMC Helix Support Teams
- BMC Helix Infrastructure Teams - Database, Networking, Security and Platform.
- BMC Professional Services & third-party Consulting teams
- BMC Helix Customers
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
- You’ll be responsible for working on customer activations deploying Helix applications as SaaS.
- You’ll write automations for complex deployment procedures and significantly reduce human efforts involved in day-to-day operational tasks and maintenance activities.
- You’ll collaborate with multiple cross-functional departments and teams including R&D, IS&T, Support and Operations.
- You’ll automate and apply development principles to operational practices for overall SaaS Service management.
- You’ll ensure topmost quality and rapid issue resolution for reported defects.
- You’ll coordinate with Product/Engineering Teams to get the quick resolution of issues and or product defects.
- You’ll perform tasks related to customer Escalations and share expertise in resolution of issues related to different deployed automation tools and services.
To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a DevOps Engineer / SRE capacity.
- Hands on experience with CI\CD pipelines and maintenance of containerized deployments (with Jenkins, Docker & Kubernetes)
- Fundamental knowledge of one of automation scripting language Python, Groovy, Ansible, or Shell scripting
- Hands on experience working with DevOps and Automation tools like Git, Docker, Helm, Terraform, Jira, Harbor Registry
- Good exposure and fundamental knowledge of container deployments, persistent storage, PODs, ingress, routes, and Kubernetes objects.
- Good exposure and fundamental knowledge of Public, Private and hybrid cloud deployments (AWS / GCP / OCI / Azure etc)
Nice to have skills
- Exposure and fundamental knowledge of tools like Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus
- Exposure and fundamental knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and its implementation for SaaS services.
- Able to design & document the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), design document and architecture artifacts.
- Good troubleshooting skills and knowledge of BMC Helix products including ITSM, Digital Workplace, Helix Platform will be an add-on.
