- Responsible for facility and equipment related projects in various departments throughout the plant, i.e. new facility and equipment installations, general plant re-arrangements, upgrades, modifications, new proposals (plant & line lay-outs) and the updating of plant lay-outs.
- Generally projects would be driven by/based on cost savings, safety, infrastructure, capacity, uptime, process and/or quality improvements (Projects would include or be a combination of mechanical, electrical and civil engineering aspects)
- Determine cost effective, practical and functional solutions for the requirements and execute projects within available time and budget.
- Create facility or line lay-outs, draw up specifications and a scope of work.
- Obtain tenders and review the requirements with the bidders. Compile and submit project documentation in line with Ford’s Manufacturing Engineering requirements.
- Supervise and manage contractors with regards to the installation and commissioning of facilities and/or equipment. Ensure that the contractors adhere to Ford’s site disciplines, safety and environmental rules and OHSA requirements.
- Approve progress payments and submit invoices.
- Responsible for final project sign-off, training and hand-over to the customer.
- Upgrade of utilities network and master site plan.
