Lead and drive all commercial responsibilities in the UK and Continental Europe, ensuring market leadership, target achievement, and alignment with global strategic objectives. Influence strategic direction and execution of business plans to achieve long-term growth and profitability,including full P&L responsibility for the region.


Strategic Planning and Leadership

  • Develop and implement effective business strategies tailored to the diverse European market to achieve defined business goals and full market P&L.
  • Lead the creation and execution of a 3-year Strategic Business Plan (SBP) for Europe, ensuring alignment with global adidas Golf strategies and objectives.
  • Oversee geographic account and retail development plans, leveraging market analysis to drive growth across the region.
  • Identify and capitalize on new distribution channels and customer opportunities in Europe, fostering innovation and market expansion.

Business Development and Execution

  • Create and execute comprehensive sales, retail marketing, and operations plans to optimize Point of Sale (POS) productivity and enhance customer satisfaction across Europe.
  • Drive the expansion of e-commerce and digital strategies to enhance market reach and revenue streams in Europe.
  • Provide accurate monthly rolling sales forecasts and align demand planning with sales objectives for optimal inventory turnover and profitability.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead and mentor the European management team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with global and regional business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management, major accounts, and key stakeholders across Europe.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and compliance with adidas procedures.

Financial Management

  • Take full P&L responsibility for Europe, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded, and maintain a healthy A/R track.
  • Manage Marketing Working Budget (MWB) and Operating Overhead (OOH) for Europe, ensuring alignment with sales and margin targets.
  • Conduct regular financial performance reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Systems and Processes

  • Develop and manage key business processes, including selling processes, POS management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Establish a robust platform to collect and analyze market intelligence promptly, including market trends, competitive environment, and account information.

HR Management and Organizational Development

  • Set performance plans and conduct regular reviews with direct reports, ensuring the right talent is in place across the European team.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and feedback to direct reports, emphasizing integrity, openness, and accountability.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Key Relationships:

  • Global Functional Teams (Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc.)
  • adidas SLT, sales, retail, and shared services within Europe
  • BU Golf Europe Team
  • European Golf Media, Local Golf VIPs, and Influencers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strategic planning and management skills, with a focus on the European market.
  • Strong leadership, persuasion, and people management skills, with a high degree of cultural sensitivity.
  • Proven track record in driving sales and market growth in complex, multi-market environments.
  • High tolerance for stress, strong job ownership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management for leading consumer goods companies, with extensive experience in general management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business or related fields preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing P&L and driving strategic business plans across multiple countries within Europe.
