The Senior Visualization Support professional plays a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring that existing Power BI reports remain effective, accurate, and aligned with business requirements.
As a key member of the Analytics Production Support team, you will ensure Power BI reports refreshes as scheduled and its accuracy. The ability to manage major incidents effectively, including handling Major Incident Management (MIM) bridges, is crucial and flexible to work in 24x7x365 support model.
Your technical expertise will be key in assisting business partners and leaders to access and utilize data for informed decision-making and operational effectiveness. You will mentor mid-level and junior team members, assist in resolving complex Power BI DAX issues, and uphold the highest standards of data quality and integrity. Your support will be essential to maintaining the organization's data-driven approach and its capacity to adapt to changing business needs.
Your key responsibilities
- Provide expert-level support for Power BI dashboards, assisting business stakeholders with troubleshooting and optimizing their use of visualizations.
- Ensure data accuracy in all production workspace reports for user consumption.
- Manage and prioritize support tickets effectively, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) parameters.
- Identify recurring issues and analyse trends to improve system reliability and reduce repeat incidents, ensuring the smooth operation of visualizations.
- Identify and execute automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with downstream and upstream users as needed to resolve issues and ensure the continuous performance of visualizations and reports.
- Manage major incidents with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and effective data presentation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and ensure implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate team for prompt resolution, ensuring business continuity and minimizing disruption.
- Demonstrate professionalism, honesty, integrity, and ethical behaviour in all support interactions, handling sensitive information responsibly and in compliance with regulations.
- Mentor junior team members, providing a structured training plan for skill enhancement and professional growth.
Skills and attributes for success
- 8 years of experience in a Visualization Support role, with a focus on maintaining and supporting data visualizations
- Strong hands-on work experience with Power BI is required to effectively support and troubleshoot issues.
- Experience working in a Production Support environment and readiness to work in a 24x7 Support model.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience using:
- Data Engineering Programming Languages (i.e., SQL, Power Query, M, DAX)
- Relational SQL/ NoSQL databases
- Knowledge on any of the following data tools is beneficial.
- Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
- Tidal
- Databricks
- Must be a proactive learner, eager to cross-skill and advance within our innovative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with multi-functional teams and strategic partners, and for documenting support processes.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate is required
- Knowledge of ITIL principles for effective service management
