The telecommunications industry is changing rapidly with shorter technology cycles, increased capital expenditure requirements, digitization and increasing customer expectations from operators. All of this causes pressure on margins & cash flow requiring operators to transform the way they operate, automating and digitizing their processes, upgrading their technology to leverage the power of cloud, AI and other cutting-edge developments.
As the telecommunications industry evolves, we will work with them to help them transform. You will be working on projects across the Americas, EMEIA and APAC and serving the entire telecommunications spectrum including operators, network equipment providers, system integrators, cloud vendors and specialized tool providers.
Your key responsibilities:
- You are the day-to-day point of contact for clients and managers on projects. You structure and engage teams to deliver high quality outputs.
- Along with senior management, you take the lead in identifying client issues and proposing the most appropriate approach for challenges that the telecommunication industry players face.
- You help develop the business and acquire new clients and engagements, including the identification and pursuit of business opportunities by forging strong client relationships.
- You build and maintain long-term relationships with senior clients.
- You drive strategic discussions regarding business objectives and strategy KPIs.
- Delivering qualified solutions to meet business objectives, providing focus to ensure scope and objectives are maintained throughout the project and program life cycles ensuring benefits realization.
- Result oriented leadership style, setting achievable goals and leading by example – linking commercial and technical arenas.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Consultant with minimum of 15 Years proven experience and significant knowledge and professionalism gained from years of OSS and Telecommunications products and implementation experience.
- Along with Senior Management, providing Blue Planet implementation leadership, application expertise and Ciena/Blue Planet’s solution vision to clients.
- Must have extensive telecoms OSS experience and experience in bringing forward a commercial opportunity with a Partner.
- Expertise to influence clients on how best to use Blue Planet Solutions to meet their changing business needs.
- Expertise and experience to provide critical application configuration knowledge or extensive business process expertise across a range of Blue Planet solutions.
- Expertise and experience to provide thought leadership and guidance on resolving complex implementation and solution issues.
- Expertise and experience to provide thought leadership and best or common practices on business process or solution design for OSS implementation.
- Expertise to review and approve Blue Planet Methods design and development solution documents, internal and external test strategies, plans and scripts.
- Navigate complex client relationships and OSS implementation challenges.
- Significant knowledge and experience gained from years of OSS / BSS domain (Order Orchestration, Inventory, Provisioning, NFV, MSO, etc) delivery and implementation.
- Data Architecture, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing, supporting both evaluation and logical design.
- Business architecture experience, translating business demand into service areas aiding technical design.
- Extensive Major Programme exposure in highly complex strategic initiatives - driving forward business transformation across multiple companies.
- Extensive RFP exposure - developing capability needs and supplier liaison.
- Process development for both 'As Is' and 'To Be' to aid requirement and solution definition and scoping.
- Exceptional quantitative skills enabling identification of key business issues and progression of solutions.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/ or any other relevant discipline.
