As a Software Engineer III at JP Morgan Chase within Asset and Wealth Management Architecture and Engineering team, you will be required to apply your deep knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, share your knowledge with others, and partner continuously with stakeholders to stay focused on common goals. Our core product is Weave, the Worker Entitlements and Visibility Engine, which is critical to business operations in AWM as it provides roles-based access control (RBAC) services for hundreds of applications and tens of thousands of employees

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, deliver and support strategic, cloud native software and services for Roles Based Access Control to critical business systems in AWM
  • Focus on building the right software in the right way, aligned with team goals
  • Participate actively in an agile development process, working closely with your teammates, other teams, product owners, consumers and other stakeholders
  • Perform (and be subject to) frequent constructive peer reviews
  • Participate in our developer forums
  • Help improve our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)/DevOps tooling and processes to enable us to deliver more value and reduce risk
  • Experiment with emerging/modern technologies and adopt those that will improve our products
  • Align with the firm’s standards and guidelines to ensure our systems are stable, scalable, secure and performant

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Expertise in Java and ReactJS (or a similar JavaScript library)
  • Experience in Java – Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Cloud
  • Experience in SCM / DevOps / CI /CD tools & process – Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar
  • Experience in Web Technologies – JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS, JSON, REST, GraphQL, React, Bootstrap
  • Experience in Testing tools & frameworks – JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology and Tools – Jira, RDBMS systems and SQL – Oracle
  • Experience in Observability and monitoring services – Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk
  • Microservices and Layered (SOA/MVC) Architecture
  • Experience in Integration patterns and messaging technologies – Kafka
  • Experience in Caching solutions – Apache Ignite, Cloud deployments – Private Cloud, Amazon Web Services

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Cloud Platforms, Container/Orchestration – Amazon ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry
  • Experience in Camunda – Workflow Engine, Process Orchestration
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
