As a Contract Specialist - VP within our Client Service Function, you will spend each day defining, refining, and delivering set goals for our firm.You will draft and negotiate a wide range of client (includes onboarding) agreements, including but not limited to investment management agreements, NDAs, and other contractual documents for mutual funds, institutional clients, and intermediaries selling JPMorgan products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex legal and operational issues.
- Identify non-standard terms in agreements and assess potential risks.
- Communicate complex contractual matters to senior management effectively.
- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, managing performance and career development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global stakeholders, understanding their needs and fostering collaboration.
- Develop and implement metrics to assess team performance and stakeholder satisfaction, creating and sharing comprehensive MIS reports.
- Design and execute training and upskilling plans for your team, promoting continuous learning and development.
- Oversee day-to-day contract operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Drive process improvements using digital tools to enhance efficiency.
- Manage global projects, addressing challenges and ensuring quality standards and deliverables are met.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Professional with at least 10 years of experience in drafting and negotiating a variety of client agreements.
- Proven leadership experience, having led a team for at least 5 years.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain composed under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and proactive with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to develop productive relationships with senior management and challenge the status quo to facilitate change.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Lawyer with Experience in Asset Management, Investment Banking, or Wealth Management.
- Ability to identify process improvements and implement changes using digital tools like Python, Tableau, and Alteryx.
