As an FPGA Developer Intern, you will contribute to the design and implementation of FPGA accelerators tailored for Data Analytics.

You will gain hands-on experience in:

  • Hardware Acceleration for Data Analytics: Developing custom FPGA solutions that enhance performance and scalability.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with experienced architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to tackle challenging technical problems.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: Learning new technologies and methods to push hardware to its limits while ensuring efficient, high-quality designs.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a master’s or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Other Requirements

  • Research Interns are expected to be physically located in their manager’s Microsoft worksite location for the duration of their internship.
  • In addition to the qualifications below, you’ll need to submit a minimum of two reference letters for this position as well as a cover letter and any relevant work or research samples. After you submit your application, a request for letters may be sent to your list of references on your behalf. Note that reference letters cannot be requested until after you have submitted your application, and furthermore, that they might not be automatically requested for all candidates. You may wish to alert your letter writers in advance, so they will be ready to submit your letter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fundamentals: A solid understanding of computer architecture and digital design principles.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with hardware description languages (such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or HLS) and programming in C++.
  • Practical Experience: Coursework, personal projects, or internship/research experience in building custom logic designs is a plus.
  • Problem Solving: An eagerness to learn, adapt, and apply new engineering methods and technologies.

Applied Sciences IC2 : The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,460 -$10,680 per month.

Applied Sciences IC3 : The base pay range for this internship is USD $6,550 -$12,880 per month.

  • Testing and Debugging: Assist in debugging FPGA designs, ensuring their reliability and efficiency in large-scale deployments.
