RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong understanding of design principles, moving image processes, and storytelling.
  • Collaborating closely with our creative, sales and wider Jacobs team to produce a variety of motion content, including explainer videos, showreels, prototyping, animated presentations, marketing campaigns, brand design, public consultation films, social media content and internal communications.
  • Ability to flex between animation, video editing and 3D.
  • Development and preparation of style frames, storyboards, proposals, and motion tests.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate creative concepts.
  • Converting complex briefs into engaging moving image.
  • Adding value by offering innovative creative solutions that provide us with a competitive edge in the marketplace.
  • Keep up to date with the latest visual trends and developments in motion, design and visual effects.
  • Be a source of inspiration for the wider creative team, including knowledge sharing and potentially mentoring other members of our creative community.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, animation, visual arts, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working within an agency/studio environment.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine.
  • Creative, passionate and bundles of enthusiasm.
  • Great communicator including listening skills.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • A proficient working knowledge of Cinema 4D (or similar, but with the ambition to learn C4D)
  • Conversant in Adobe CC core software – must have experience of After Effects and/or Premiere.
  • Ambition and curiosity to learn the latest cloud-based platforms (Rive, Spline.3d, Unreal Engine etc)
  • Must be a competent user of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and passionate about moving image, design and digital.
  • Strong eye for detail and ability to contribute creative ideas.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize design focus accordingly.
