Assist R&D engineers and/or teams in a test environment for development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. This position requires an extensive knowledge base and a high degree of independence.
Your responsibilities include:
- Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, and optical areas.
- Works from protocols, test methods or verbal instructions.
- Performs tests, captures data and constructs excel data spreadsheets.
- Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.
- Most testing is mechanical in nature, i.e., pull, flex, torque, extension, retraction, insertion and withdraw. Some high voltage/current testing. All testing requires meticulous setup.
- May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance allegations.
- Explore and contribute to testing concepts and test method development.
- Act as a resource to other employees.
- Often and thoroughly communicate project status to project teams.
Required qualifications:
- AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3+ years R&D technical support or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to setup/conduct product testing and collect data to medical device standards.
- Operate and maintain complex test equipment.
- PC knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and file sharing/saving.
- Ability to work in a team environment interacting with engineers and technicians
- Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Medical device testing experience.
- Experience interacting with a highly technical staff in an engineering lab environment.
- Prior experience in test documentation through electronic lab notebooks or reports.
- Test methods development and training experience.
