23.06.2024

NOTE: YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN HIGHER EDUCATION DURING THE ENTIRE INTERNSHIP TO BE CONSIDERED.

You will be part of EMEA Service Engineering. Service Engineering works to ensure that delivered vehicles operate as intended and can be repaired effectively. This is accomplished by working closely with Vehicle Service as well as engineering departments within Tesla. Service Engineering conducts root cause analysis when the failure reason is unknown or new, analyze data on vehicle or fleet level to identify issues or track trends, and develop repair and diagnostic procedures allowing vehicle technicians to repair vehicles effectively and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

The internship focuses specifically on developing and validating diagnostic software routines for the Thermal system of Tesla vehicles. Specifically, the tasks will be to:

  • Review and improve the success rate of existing diagnostic and repair software routines
  • Develop new software routines that combine multiple steps into one routine
  • Define test plans and validate changes to diagnostic software routines
  • Develop validation framework for automated SIL and HIL validation of thermal diagnostic routines
  • Expand learnings to other vehicle powertrain systems
  • Gain experience in developing diagnostic tools that are fast and accurate
  • Learn how to conduct sufficient system and/or component level validation
What You’ll Bring
  • Pursuing an education in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Level C1 in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience with Python/scripting
  • C/C++ experience is a plus
  • Understanding and relevant coursework within high voltage systems, EV powertrain components, microcontrollers, and embedded programming
  • Detailed understanding of components involved in EV thermal systems
  • Detailed understanding of large set data analysis, and how to accurately prove the impact of software/hardware changes
