PayPal Solution Engineer

As a Solution Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our merchants successfully implement our products. We will look for you to use your technology and business intelligence to help merge the multitude of APIs and experiences to create solutions our merchants will love.The role requires internal cross team participation with key internal stakeholder teams such as Sales, Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, etc. to address specific integration requirements or new product features.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Consult with prospects to handle technical product questions and provide guidance
  • Collaborate with the Product Team to gather and refine requirements for new features
  • Implement collateral materials to communicate and educate clients
  • Execute RFPs (Request for Proposal), Statements of Works, and Proposals
  • Present competitive analysis to internal teams and suggest improvements
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for clients and set up test accounts

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Web and mobile technologies including Web Services, REST APIs, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks.

  • Multiple major programming languages (Java, Node.js, .NET, PHP, Python).

  • Exceptional communication skills. This role supports mandarin speaking clients, proficiency in both Mandarin and English is a must.

  • Ability to lead complex partner engagements that may involve multiple project teams from PayPal and our partner organisations. Coordinate with core and engineering teams as needed

  • Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt to communication styles with all levels of client organizations including C-level executives, middle management, finance and operations, developers, and line personnel.

  • Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents.

  • Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot most integration issues

  • Effective time management skills to work with multiple external customers concurrently.

  • Self–learner for most of the topics on new products with proficiently designed solutions and deliver integrations with both off the shelf and customized products.

  • Strong presentation skills (Presenting to Business units and Technical teams).

  • About 10% international travel.

  • 5 years of experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline) or eCommerce Comprehensive knowledge is highly valued.

  • Broad knowledge of technical concepts and payment processing as it relates to company products and integration.
