BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB:
- The Design Engineer is assigned to a project as a key member of the HVAC design team who will be doing engineering activities to carry out HVAC design work based on standard company procedure /other procedures.
- He is also responsible for ensuring that the Group’s technical policies, are followed, considering any special contractual requirements.
- Timely completion of design and engineering deliverables.
- Job responsibilities include Heat load calculation in excel and Trace, Area Classification, Pressure Zoning and AHU Zoning, HVAC Room Book (Summary of Heat load & Design parameters), Reheating capacities, Calculations of Exfiltration and Infiltration air, Preparation of Air Flow Diagrams, Duct, and piping pressure drop calculations and Ducting Quantity, Pump Head calculation.
- Preparation and Checking of BMS logic Diagrams, Creating P&ID, and AF&ID sheets.
- Leading Inter discipline coordination & Client Meetings and preparation of meeting notes.
- Maintaining Hold List / Comments Logs & CRS / Assumption List time to time for each project.
- Should have very strong communication skills.
- Develop working relationships across various disciplines & adherence to Dept. /Discipline Working Instructions and Quality Systems.
- Working within company budgets.
- Monitor & check, that the work and progress is in-compliance with the project requirements and schedule.
- Client relationship management. Meet client expectations and maintain long-term relationship with client. Attend to client’s feedback and any complaints.
- Preparation of Audit Documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review technical requirements of client’s specifications and ensure that agreement is reached as per the HVAC basis of design document. Participate in discussions with the client, as necessary.
- Monitor & check, that the work and progress is in-compliance with the project requirements and schedule.
- Maintain contact with other disciplines/groups to ensure:
- Project Manager and/or Engineer are aware of problems of progress delays.
- Proper interchange of information.
- Proper interchange of documents.
- Interface is correctly defined.
- A desire to achieve high quality outputs and deliver excellent service.
- Support to achieve “best for project” outcomes.
- Identify and address issues that would impact on desired project outcomes.
- Right First Time in delivery with adoption of zero defect and beyond zero approach.

- MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering Discipline with minimum 8 years of experience in HVAC designing field. Candidate should possess knowledge in carrying out basic and detailed engineering work. Candidate should have technical & working knowledge of HVAC designing for pharma industry, FMCG & Microelectronics projects.
- Candidate should have basic knowledge of following would be :
- Strong experience on design of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility / Specialty Chemical/Semiconductor in terms of HVAC design.
- Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility architectural layout and process sequence.
- Sound experience of Hazardous Area Classification for designing HVAC Properly.
- Strong experience in carrying out detailed heat load calculations.
- Sound knowledge of understanding & making PIDs / AFIDs for HVAC system.
- HVAC Equipment / Valves selection and data sheet preparation.
- Good knowledge in terms of carrying out pump head and Fan static pressure calculations.
- Sound knowledge of designing of ducting, piping, and HVAC controls (BMS & EMS System) and should be able to prepare the SOO of the complete HVAC system (Low Side & High Side).
- MTO/BOQ Preparation for complete HVAC System (Low Side & High Side).
- Experience on major and multidisciplinary pharma projects within India or abroad.
- Sound Knowledge of current pharma, ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO, Singapore Standards & Clean room guidelines is must.
- Design of HVAC systems in accordance with USFDA/WHO/EU GMP/ISPE/ISO guidelines
- Design of dust extraction system
- Design of LAF/Fume hood/Bio safety cabinets
- Design of HVAC system for low RH applications as low as 15%.
- Sound, static pressure and acoustic calculations
- Classified cold room design with HEPA/low level risers inclusion.
- Cold room and Freezers design up to (-) 40 Deg C Design
- HVAC design for OEL-5 category potent plants
- HVAC design for BSL facilities
- HVAC Design knowledge of filling machine isolator AHU design, Acclimation room design
- Design exposure in working for Pharma plants like Biotech/OSD/API/Sterile plants.
- Detailed knowledge of BMS and validated EMS system
- Detailed knowledge of executing DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ documents for validation
- Basic knowledge of process equipment’s and its heat dissipation requirements
- Design of HVAC system based on hazardous area classifications.
- Gap analysis and site support for execution and validation team
- Knowledge of Turn down philosophy during out of manufacturing hours.
- Knowledge of Semiconductor Plant HVAC design for Fab and OSAT facilities
