Job Summary
As an Associate in the Category Manager team, you will have the opportunity to design and execute global and regional strategies for third party supplier spend across various categories. You will work closely with our Global Category Directors and their teams based across numerous locations globally. You will lead the development of global and regional category sourcing plans and implement strategies regionally. This role gives you the chance to leverage your analytical skills and prior project management experience to perform program management activities in support of supplier on-boarding. You will also have the opportunity to develop relationships within our lines of business and coordinate with Sourcing Leads globally.
Job responsibilities
- Identify qualified candidate suppliers capable of meeting JPMC requirement and carry out all in depth supplier due diligence as required.
- Work with LOB clients and other stakeholders to define requirements for a sourcing transaction. Design and execute the competitive process for each sourcing transaction to obtain the best overall value-added solutions from candidate suppliers.
- Evaluate competitive offerings from suppliers and develop and present sourcing options that meet JPMC's business requirements. Lead the negotiations to establish commercial terms and lead the contract develop process thru contract approval and execution.
- Partner with global and regional teams and clients on local, regional and sometimes global sourcing projects.
- Partner closely with internal JPMC legal, risk and finance teams towards the successful completion of intricate negotiations and initiatives.
- Lead the category and supplier spend management activities with respective spend areas and suppliers, if applicable.
- Conduct in depth cost and spend analysis in order develop target saves initiatives though various cost reduction means.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Specific Category Experience in Global Real Estate Services, including Design and Construction, Global Multimedia product purchases and Engineers, Servers, GPUs, Technical Security related hardware, Structured/ transport Cabling, IT waste disposal requirements, IT Secure Shred/ Destruction services.
- Experience in Global Security Services, including physical guarding, security technology, pre-employment screening services.
- Highly analytical and Interpersonal skills : ability to lead and influence execute level stakeholders.
- Thought Leadership: determination to drive breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement; sets a personal example.
- Commercial skill/strategic negotiation ability including strong knowledge of the key aspects of the RFI/RFP/RFQ and five step sourcing process.
- Technology Acumen: advanced proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially advanced Excel) as well as Ariba analysis.

- Legal Acumen: strong understanding and proven experience in executing and amending complex legal Master Agreements and Service levels.
- Cost Modeling: ability to understand value streams, cost drivers and how to break down cost structures.
- Business Strategy Alignment: ability to understand business strategy and build plans to support it.
