Key Responsibilities
Build a Design System. Develop a comprehensive library of GDM-approved components to enhance our digital customer experience.
Focus on creating reusable components and interaction patterns to streamline development processes across all businesses.
Governance and Standardization - Provide standard UX-focused tickets for development teams, ensuring a seamless workflow and thoughtfulness of the end-to-end customer journey.
Ensure all current designs exceed the standards set by WCAG 2.2 for accessibility.
Conduct comprehensive audits, design reviews, and implement best practices for accessibility in design and functionality.
Use a suite of tools to ensure code is WCAG compliant and follows UX best practices.
You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
7 years of experience in front-end development processes, with a focus on user experience and accessibility.
Experience building and maintaining design libraries and systems (Figma, low-code or no-code framework, Atomic Design ethics).
Experience with WCAG 2.2 standards and accessibility best practices.
Experience working with front-end development technology teams, using languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., SCSS, React, NextJS).
Proven track record of implementing accessibility standards on web applications.
Experience collaborating with UX designers and product teams to translate user needs into technical solutions.
Prior experience in Agile development methodologies and working within cross-functional teams.
We Value
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, UI Design, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
Certifications in accessibility (e.g., Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies - CPACC) would be a plus.
Knowledge of accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) for audits and validation.
