Senior clinical engineer
You are responsible for
As a Clinical Test Engineer in Philips Healthcare Ultrasound R&D in China, you will report to the Philips Ultrasound R&D manager in China; You will work on clinical engineering test assignments of NMPA Type Testing activities of our medical diagnostic ultrasound systems and products. Working with both internal/external cross-functional teams of R&D, SC/MFG, Regulatory Assurance, Marketing, and also closely with Philips key technical interfaces and RA team to execute type testing activities are required.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Working as a key contributor in our NMPA Type Testing engineering support team to completefunctional/performancetest activities in Philips Ultrasound products Regulatory Testing in China. This includes contributing to type test project’s self -test execution of system’s operation to complete the tasks of operating performance tests and demonstrating specified clinical functions/features in required NMPA test categories according to NMPA regulation for the tested Philips Ultrasound product.
- Exercising skills in solving functional testing problems in Type Testing environment; Working closely with BG Ultrasound R&D and V&V teams to handle testing issues and deliver results with consistency and meet NMPA requirement.
- Understanding functional specifications and operations of features and applications to the satisfaction of the purpose of thefeatures/applications.
- Capable of operating, maintaining, and calibrating the functional test equipment and devices to satisfy NMPA and QMS requirement.
- Engaged in and contribute to Working as an owner,lead the product technical requirement (PTR) drafting for NMPA type testing working and partnering with the RD team members, Regulatory , and Marketing colleagues.
- Capable of communicating and working with Philips Ultrasound RA team members to interface and work with NMPA test house staff for completing type testing activities
- Working closely with China RA team to support them to respond NMPA reviewers during deficiency response phase of NMPA registration.
- As a key CNAS Lab team member,lead CNAS certified test items application for Ultrasound test ,lead ultrasound CNAS team members to conduct CNAS routine maintenance, at least includes monthly test plan making and executing,test tools and phantoms periodic verification,personnel qualification forms periodic update.
- Practicing best practice to achieve first time right; apply skills to resolve functional testing issues on target. Work with related functions to deliver results on time and on target with capability of planning, scheduling, and tracking test status from start to finish.
- Working with project management and team leadership and members for sound judgment and making decisions.
- Pro-actively seeking out, learning, applying and sharing with others new technical skills on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for the assigned tasks’ quality of work, reliability, schedule (if appropriate), cost and delegation of tasks.

You will be working in the Philips Healthcare Ultrasound Research and Development organization in SuZhou, China, also the Business Units of Ultrasound in North America. You will also work with manufacturing/SC team in Suzhou.

We are looking for a highly professional clinical engineer with
- Requires Bachelor’s degree or higher in Clinical Engineering, Reliability and Clinical Validation Testing Engineering, Bio-medical Engineering;
- Minimum 5+ year of work experience in the field of Clinical Test Engineering or equivalent, with experience in medical ultrasound products’ testing, and/or experience in working with NMPA test house or self-test experience in medical device Type Testing preferred. Experience in ultrasound product validation is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving; Capable of working with a technical team to solve various technical issues in a logical way.
- Self-motivated, independent with Can-Do attitude. Pro-active attitude and high quality mindset towards your assignment, and is result oriented.
- Demonstrated history of solid occupational ethics, and track record of working well in team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in engineering projects; ability to operate independently with reasonable supervision; technical skill for issues resolving and troubleshooting
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate and/or present complex technical issues to engineers and managers
- Having adequate product-level knowledge of ultrasound systems and some knowledge in a variety of specialties; some clinical knowledge is a plus. Knowledge and understanding of technical requirements associated with area of work and capable of learning how it relates to the final product (e.g., acoustics/materials engineering, transducers development).
- Proficient in both Chinese & English
