Key job responsibilities- Execute the electrical design work-streams encompassing the panel design, motor & drive sizing, electrical load calculations, system I/O architecture and layout, wireway design and placement, safety/guarding, and incorporation of ancillary systems at the project / platform level while ensuring the technical, cost and timeline objectives are achieved
- Deliver engineering workstreams including panel design and layout, power calculations, safety analysis and compliance with appropriate regulations (UL, CSA, CE, etc..), electrical schematics, electrical hardware selection including HMI, PLC, servo axis controllers and drives, VFD’s and I/O racks
- Ensure project documentation is complete and scalable for manufacturing- Manage external vendors in developing solutions
A day in the life
As an Electrical Engineer, you will:- Write and develop functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.- Establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).- Travel to development sites to troubleshoot issues.

- BS / MS in Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
- 7+ years of experience designing the electrical connections inside industrial electrical AC/DC and DC/DC cabinets with voltages in the 100-600VAC and 5-60VDC ranges.
- 7+ years of experience supporting production systems in the industrial environment
- 5+ years of experience designing schematics for industrial applications
- 4+ years of experience design with industry safety standards (UL508A preferred)
- 4+ years of experience with hands-on prototyping of solutions in the lab
- 2+ years of experience managing external vendors (ODM, OEM)
- Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program

- MS / PhD in Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
- Excellent written (white papers) and oral communication skills
- 4+ years of experience applying IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards
- 4+ years of experience project management of technical projects
- 3+ years of experience in industrial programming (HMI, PLC, Motion)
- 3+ years of experience operations in a manufacturing environment
