Your Role and Responsibilities
Who you are:
As a Linux Development Engineer, you will be responsible to develop and improve various security features in Enterprise Linux on Power. You will apply your deep programming and problem-solving skills during your journey at the Linux Technology Centre. You will also interact with the opensource communities to upstream your work.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop state of the art security features for Enterprise Linux on Power.
  • Work closely with Opensource community to upstream the features developed.
  • Works towards the goal to ensure POWER systems objectives are optimally achieved.
  • Interact with teams above and below the stack to ensure goals are met holistically

As a developer, you will be working in a highly dynamic team of Linux security engineers. Most of these engineers are well known in Linux security community. You will be part of a stimulating team environment that will help you learn the following:

  • You will learn about new IBM Power architecture, System internals, Linux kernel internals

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in working on projects related to Linux security features.
  • Secure Boot of Operating Systems knowledge
  • Linux Bootloader knowledge (ie. GRUB)
  • Strong programming skills in C. Strong Operating systems skills. Working knowledge of computer systems architecture.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Prior exposure to open source community work
