C13- VP -Data Controls Foundation Lead Analyst
The Data Controls Foundation Lead Analyst is responsible for contributing to the directional strategy and assisting in creation and modification of Data Risk and Control Framework. The focus of this role may be on one or more of the following areas: assisting in identification, measurement and reporting, data controls assessment, data policy adoption and compliance, data controls framework performance and issue management process, and regulatory and audit response and action tracking.
This role requires someone who is dynamic, flexible, and can easily respond to quickly changing needs. The candidate must have the ability to handle ambiguity and complexity and be able to deliver on multiple responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy and Control Inventory related to Data Risk
- Assess adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after the execution of a process (QA)
- Lead review andchallenge, withinthe FLUs, on the effective design and management of data controls to mitigate data risks as required by the Data Risk Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issuesfor resolution
- Work closely with control and business partners, as well as Operational Risk Management (ORM), Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Operations and other cross functional partners to support assessment of the data control environment and assist with data control implementation activities
- Document procedural implementation, controls, and change management processes with appropriate teams (individually or in collaboration) to ensure proper governance and controls exist
- Provide support on Data Risk and Controls framework including design, effectiveness, performance monitoring and self-assessment processes
- Oversight and analysis of data-related issues, tracking of ownership and target dates and associated metrics and reporting
- Support production of recommendations for enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes and practices
- Maintain project management artifacts such as issues management, risk management, stakeholder reporting
Qualifications:
- years relevant experience in a Data Governance/ Data Management/ Process Engineering
- Advanced understanding of Project Management methodologies and tools
- Prior experience in risk and control area – defining and assessing controls
- Prior experience in financial services industry preferred
- Ability to monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes, with the ability to anticipate and balance needs of multiple stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
- Preferred prior experience working in a Big 4 consulting firm
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to see the big picture with high attention to critical details
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
