This role is for Senior Engineer/Engineer for supporting Qualcomm IOT BU customer base in EMEA region. We are looking for a postgraduate with 3-5 years of experience for Senior Engineer level or 1-3 years of experience for Engineer level with relevant customer facing software support experience in Industrial IOT or Consumer IOT segments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

*Global travel several times per year for standards organization forums.

• Deep and broad understanding of some of the most advanced Qualcomm SoC based embedded systems for Industrial and consumer applications.

• Candidate will get exposure on BSP software on Qualcomm Snapdragon IoT SoC, SoM from eco-system partners and reference designs. BSP is the core of all platform development and requires a deep system understanding to both drive customer designs and debug complex issues.

Job function:

Customer Engineering role:

• Understand key aspects of customers' system requirements and designs.

• To communicate with internal development teams on customers’ issues/features/designs.

• To work with customers in developing customized features and resolving development stage/product commercialization issues.

• Help external stakeholder including direct customers, design houses, eco-systems partners to easily port their applications on Qualcomm SoC based systems and utilizes various compute capabilities and software feature set on the Qualcomm SoC

• To train customers on QC platforms and features

• Collaborate across multiple locations and travel when required to directly support customers.

Skills/experience:

• 2+ years (1+ year for Engineer role) of industrial experience in design, development, and commercialization of complex IOT products running feature rich complex multi-tasking operating systems.

• Familiar with embedded system and real-time OS - exposure to one or more of Linux, Yocto, Ubuntu based systems – bring-up, device tree, peripheral customizations, performance tuning, containerization solution.

• Solid understanding of computer system architecture (core, cache, memory models, bus architecture, etc.) preferrable based on arm architecture.

• Strong experience in C/C++ programming, systems knowledge.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, high motivation, the ability to learn quickly and must be a self-starter.

Responsibilities:

• Integration, development, system debugging BSP related functionalities and application porting on Qualcomm SoC based designs from various eco-systems players and direct customers.

• Handling customers’ Q&A and work closely with internal developers.

• Training customers on QC platforms and features.

Education requirements:

• Masters, Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years (1+ year for Engineer role) Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

• 2+ years (1+ year for Engineer role) experience with debugging techniques.

• 2+ years (1+ year for Engineer role) experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, etc.

• Experience on developing python based automation script is nice to have.

• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written). Fluent oral and written communication skill in German will be highly valued.
