Your key responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a team of technical support engineers.
- Monitor live production systems, focusing on key service objectives.
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex Java applications.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to Java code, performance and system integrations.
- Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and resolve issues at code level.
- Ensure timely and accurate resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Participate in post-incident review and contribute to root cause analysis
- Develop and implement support processes and best practices to improve team efficiency,
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues.
- Liaise with development, QA and operations team to ensure seamless communication and resolution of issues.
- Develop UNIX and SQL scripts to perform complex data clean-ups.
Skills and attributes for success
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development/ technical support.
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing a technical support team.
- Strong experience in Java development, including deep knowledge of Java frameworks (e.g. Spring, Hibernate).
- Highly skilled in troubleshooting and debugging Java applications.
- Understanding of RESTful APIS, databases (Oracle, Sql Server) and web technologies
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP and AWS.
- Experience with tools such as: GIT, Jira, Eclipse, Jenkins, Maven, Sonarcube, OpenGrok
- Strong problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle high pressure and fast paced situations
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications
- Certification in Java
- ITIL certification
- Cloud certifications
