What a typical day looks like:
- Candidate has primary responsibility to prepare should cost based on the 2d/3d drawing and information provided by the customer.
- Provide should-cost calculation for die casting, Machining, Powder Metallurgy and other Mech commodity items using Flex costing methodology
- Provide recommendation and costing assumptions if there is insufficient information provided by customer.
- Develop and maintain cost models for die casting, Machining, Powder Metallurgy and other Mech commodity items with cost on Raw Material, Processes, tooling, labor , Machine and overhead
- The role also includes sending RFQ to suppliers. Analyze supplier quote, cost negotiation, obtain cost breakdown details from suppliers,
- Identify and recommend cost-saving measures and strategies through process, including design changes, material selection, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with various other team to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable
- Process Improvement to Analyze, document, and optimize business processes across functions.
- Automation Enablement to Identify manual or repetitive tasks and collaborate on automation.
- Governance & Compliance to Develop and implement process governance models to ensure consistency, standardization, and adherence to policies.
- Reporting & Insights to Design and automate dashboards/reports and ensuring accuracy and actionable insights for business decision-making.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering with min 5 to 7 years relevant work experience, preferred in die casting, Machining, Powder Metallurgy factory
- Familiar and able to read, interpret 2D/3D mechanical drawings, designs and specifications.
- Strong understanding of die casting, Machining, Powder Metallurgy and other Mech commodity on processes, tooling, and materials
- Proficiency in 2d/3d software, Auto cad, Solid works, Pro-e(Creo), and MS office, Excel, Word, Power point..
- Proficiency in cost estimation and modeling techniques
- Process Expertise: Strong knowledge in process mapping, gap analysis, SOP development, and continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Added advantage if Expertise in Power Query, Macros/VBA, and dashboard creation for robust reporting solutions.
- Analytical & Communication Skills Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication for driving change and influencing stakeholders.
- Self-driven and able to work with multiple team in multiple sites.
