As an integral member of the Japan Controllership team, the Commercial Controllership Analyst will support commercial controllership activities for GE Healthcare Japan, working with the Japan Commercial Controllership leader to ensure strong commercial processes in compliance with the revenue recognition requirements of US/Stat GAAP. This position will report directly to the Japan Commercial Controller and will also have strong interaction with the International Commercial Controllership members as well as Japan Controller related to controllership projects, commercial activities and closing related activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical & operational support commercial and operation teams to achieve business growth in commercial area
- Have ownership on monthly/quarterly closing activities including Account reconciliation and SOX (warranties, deferred revenue, commission to external dealers, account reclass etc.)
- Work with shared service team to make ensure monthly/quarterly closing task (MJE, account rec) and other controllership related activities are completed on time with agreed quality
- Drive lean / digitalization initiative drive upper stream process / data change to make closing as easy and automated and support other regional/global projects and initiatives
- Assist the Japan Commercial Controller in the review of commercial contracts and upfront involvement in structuring terms & conditions on customer contracts and other commercial related activities
- Work closely with Concession/CS team to support and track concession process as well as to drive timely closure
- Provide support internal and external audit process (Internal Auditor, Deloitte, tax related)
- Conduct other annual/quarterly/ad hoc analysis related to Commercial Controllership activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financeor related degree from an accredited college or university preferred;
- Minimum 3-5 years progressive accounting or finance experience;
- Native level Japanese and business level English capability;
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate commitment to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of US GAAP Revenue Recognition (ASC606) or IFRS equivalent;
- Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change;
- Clear thinking / problem solving: able to support and lead cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to grasp new ideas quickly;
- Excellent communication skills: experience working closely with multiple functions and regions; able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others;
