As a Senior Transaction Manager on the Agency Lending team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless transaction experience for clients and providing strategic support to underwriters by managing the inflow of new multifamily loan submissions and assisting with preliminary underwriting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead coordination efforts with borrowers, underwriters, and bankers to obtain necessary due diligence required for loan files.
- Oversee the transition from screening to underwriting, including assembling loan packages and facilitating delivery to closing.
- Maintain comprehensive loan files, applicable checklists, and all required documents. Complete and/or assist underwriters with applicable agency forms for submission; support underwriters by entering third-party report data (e.g., appraisal, PCA, ESA, Zoning Report).
- Review and analyze received items to ensure accurate documentation of files.
- Conduct in-depth market and loan research.
- Order and critically review third-party reports (e.g., appraisals, PCA, ESA, Zoning Report).
- Manage all aspects of underwriting and closing transactions by collaborating closely with Insurance, KYC, and Legal teams to ensure completion of all required information, including running necessary credit checks applicable to the Firm and Government Sponsored Enterprises.
- Conduct property inspections and prepare inspection reports.
- Lead and participate in other projects and duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of multifamily real estate property fundamentals and agency lending/underwriting.
- Proficiency in multifamily underwriting technology systems and tools specific to Government Sponsored Enterprises.
- 5 years of experience in multifamily and multifamily affordable housing.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience in multifamily and multifamily affordable housing.
